SHANGHAI CHINA, June 20, 2022 – Ford China today announced the official China launch of the all-new Ford F-150 Raptor, the brand’s most off-road capable and connected F-150 Raptor ever with the price CNY686,800. F-150 Raptor will be sold through a direct-to-customer sales model with the order bank offered exclusively on WeChat’s “Ford Pick-up Community” channel, and pre-order batches starting on June 21 upon receipt of a CNY20,000 reservation deposit from customers personally invited by Ford. The first batch of vehicles is targeted to be delivered to customers in late Q3 of 2022.

Direct-to-Customer Sales Model Creates a New Immersive Customer Journey

The all-new Ford F-150 Raptor will be sold through a new direct-to-customer sales model, which will ensure an enhanced customer experience and transparent pricing. Service agents will be selected from the brand new JMC Ford PV network and are expected to cover more than 30 key markets across China upon openings for operation starting in this August, with updates accessible to customers via WeChat’s "Ford Pickup Community" channel. With each agent undergoing exacting training for each service position, this new model will bring Ford’s exclusive customer experience to Chinese pickup fans. Guided by the rules of being immersive, bespoke, transparent and professional, the new direct-to-customer sales model – in addition to its inherent transparent pricing that benefits customers – will deliver to Chinese pickup fans a benchmarking F-150 Raptor customer journey covering immersive purchasing experience, customized driving experience and community activities across the whole cycle, from choosing, to buying and enjoying a car.

The offline retail immersion will start with an upgraded showroom, “Raptor Space”. Accompanied by the Raptor Buddy, customers will be introduced to the American off-road lifestyle, tour around the strong product, and learn about the Built Ford Tough brand heritage. The immersive experiences will even extend outdoors if customers enroll in the exciting off-road events featuring different driving scenarios and outdoor living experiences by attending the “Ten Thousand Journeys” pickup campaigns. These campaigns pivot on must-have experiences offered by this high-performance pickup and the US-style off-road culture for F-150 Raptor owners.

To enhance the comprehensive and worry-free services designed for “off-roaders”, Ford China will roll out the industry-leading Off-road Ownership Service Package, which includes free replacement of 11 Wear and Tear parts, all-terrain assistance and off-road maintenance and cleaning as part of the all-inclusive life-cycle off-road support, annual compulsory inspection service and service pickup and delivery for more convenient daily use, and free SYNC+ data service to make every drive more enjoyable. Furthermore, more customized solutions and merchandise suitable for different scenarios – for instance, desert driving, fishing and camping – will also be made available as the icing on top of the off-road cake.

The online Ford Pick-up Community echoes the offline experience. As the exclusive order bank and a virtual community for pickup truck enthusiasts in China, the “Ford Pick-up Community” channel on WeChat is a platform where Ford F-150 Raptor fans share interesting content and enroll to attend off-road events, public activities and locally based Ford F-150 Raptor Club activities.

Additionally, a WeChat group will be activated immediately upon each order so that the always-on concierge representatives will respond promptly to customer needs and inquiries, providing customer with an elevated and joyful experience during car delivery and ownership.

“Baja 1000 Racer” Reaches the Pinnacle Once Again with 40 New Updates

As the global pickup truck leader, with a production run of over 40 million, the Ford F-Series has been the best-selling pickup truck in the United States for 45 consecutive years since 1977. Ford F-150 Raptor has been widely acclaimed across the world as a “Baja 1000 racer” with proven robustness and performance since 2009, when Ford's Special Vehicle Team (SVT) introduced the legendary F-Series pickups on the road to Baja 1000, an iconic grueling off-road all-terrain race. In China, Ford F-150 has been the top-selling imported pickup truck in its segment for five consecutive years since the local introduction of F-150 Raptor in 2017.

F-150 Raptor now stands proudly at the pinnacle of its segment once again, following three generations of evolution. The model for the China market is a two-row, four-door SuperCrew, containing 40 new updates in terms of design, off-road capability and intelligent connectivity.

With inspiration and the young and pioneering approach of Tom Liu, the lead designer for the pickup’s exterior, the all-new Ford F-150 Raptor becomes an exemplar of modern design aesthetics while retaining its storied design heritage. It takes the familiar powerful and robust look from its two precedents and integrates it into a body 5,930 mm long, 2,199 mm wide, 1,992 mm tall and with a wheelbase of 3,694 mm. The all-new Ford F-150 Raptor features a fully boxed, high-strength steel frame with a heavy-duty military-grade aluminum alloy and composite body. The distinctive front emphasizes the truck’s width, with a machine-tough look featuring a power dome hood, blacked-out grille and headlights that stretch from fender to fender. The all-new Ford F-150 Raptor will be available in six colors, including Code Orange, Agate Black, Atlas Blue, Iconic Silver, Antimatter Blue and Oxford White.

As the king of high-performance, off-road pickups – a position which the Ford F-150 Raptor has always taken great pride in occupying – the all-new Ford Raptor becomes the most powerful ever "Baja 1000 racer”. It is equipped with the latest-tuned twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost® engine to deliver a power output of 311kw, torque output of 684N.m, and the best powertrain performance in its line. The vehicle is also equipped with an upgraded Ford-built 10-speed automatic transmission, improving the NEDC combined cycle fuel economy by about 9% to 11.5L/100km. With its standard 136.3L fuel tank capacity, F-150 Raptor boasts an estimated range of 1185km on a full tank of gas, which is incredibly handy for long-range off-roading.

The next generation Ford F-150 Raptor adopts an all-new five-link rear suspension system with the longest range in its line and boasts highlights including the next-generation FOX™ Live Valve™ internal bypass shocks and a set of BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrain tires. In addition, the vehicle will be equipped with the highly rated TMS (Terrain Management System) with seven selectable drive modes, the 360 Degree Camera Package with off-road turning assistance and front wheel trail guidance, and Trail Control making mountain driving and other extreme road conditions easier to handle. In more challenging off-road environments, this suite of intelligent technologies is used to empower the renowned all-terrain performance of the all-new Ford F-150 Raptor.
