John Weinberg was elected to the board of directors of Ford Motor Company, effective Oct. 1, 2016. He serves on the compensation, talent and culture committee; finance committee; nominating and governance committee and sustainability, innovation and policy committee.
Most recently Weinberg served as vice chairman of Goldman Sachs Group Inc. from June 2006 until October 2015.
Having joined Goldman Sachs in 1983 as an associate, he was made partner in 1992. He spent the majority of his career in the banking division, most recently as a head of global investment banking. In this capacity, he also served as an advisor to clients including Ford, General Electric and Boeing. He also led the Goldman Sachs team on the initial public offerings for Visa and Under Armour.
He currently serves as a board member of New York-Presbyterian Hospital and Middlebury College, and as a member of the advisory committee of The Steppingstone Foundation. He previously served on the board of Greenwich Country Day School and on the visiting committee for Harvard Business School.
Weinberg received a Bachelor of Arts from Princeton University in 1979 and Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School 1983.
