Liz Door is chief supply chain officer for Ford. In this role, Door is responsible for leveraging the supply chain to improve quality, reduce costs and help realize the full potential of the Ford+ plan. She reports to Kumar Galhotra, chief operating officer.
Prior to joining Ford, Door was executive vice president of global strategic sourcing at home-appliance maker Whirlpool Corp., where she was also a member of the company’s executive committee. Before that, she led North America procurement for the company. Both roles placed her in the middle of Whirlpool reimagining and developing smart, networked kitchen and laundry products that made the lives of customers easier.
Door spent more than 15 years prior to Whirlpool advancing through a series of strategic purchasing and supply chain roles at General Motors, where she ultimately became an executive in the global purchasing and supply chain organization.
Door began her career with Prince Corp. (now part of Johnson Controls), as a resident quality engineer at a Chrysler assembly plant in St. Louis. A Michigan native, she holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from Michigan State University.
